Fashion Collections

My passion for working with silk began when doing costume design at the Napa Valley Theater Company in the late 1970’s.  I fell in love with the look and feel of the silk gowns we were dressing the Chekhov characters in.  While working in costume design, I started my own business on the side, Tara West, making togas and kimonos of silk from American Silk Mills. 

Later, after starting a family and designing childrenswear, I started another silk collection, Jacarand/Tara West; cocktail dresses and Spa-Meditationwear. 

I’ve continued to do custom design for red carpet and special projects such as performance costumes for the LA Master Chorale.
